School's Place in History
Maryland's oldest, independent, nonsectarian college preparatory school for boys, Boys' Latin has transformed from a single classroom rented in downtown Baltimore into a beautiful campus in Roland Park replete with state-of-the-art facilities and large athletic fields. Since 1960, we've grown from serving fewer than 200 boys to more than 600 in kindergarten through 12th grade.
Much more vital than the changes in our facilities and student body is the national leadership role Boys' Latin assumes among independent schools. We have set standards in such things as student academic self-confidence and emotional well-being, a model peer culture, and excellence in faculty support.
Throughout our history, we have always known that our students come to our school with distinctive talents and differences in learning styles. We've always worked tirelessly to ensure developmentally-appropriate, culturally-attuned and individually-tailored learning experiences for every boy since our beginnings - more than 170 years ago.
Boys' Latin offers an environment like no other. Here, there is no one-size-fits-all program. Our students thrive in an environment where they have room to see where their academic curiosity takes them, flex their creative muscles, and discover talents they never suspected they even had.
But perhaps what our boys value most of all: they become part of a unique lifelong brotherhood, exclusive in all the best senses of the word.
